                                                      Your Place of  Heros tomorrow !   

                                                   

                                                The Place of Heros is one of the most visited and frequented the city.

The renovation of the ground up, increasing space and improving the flooring, will enhance the comfort of pedestrians. A new street furniture, more modern and functional will be established. This development will enhance the place and the belfry classified World Heritage by UNESCO. This is also an opportunity to conduct archaeological excavations on the foundations of ancient buildings of the place is the Chapel of the Holy Candle and the Red House.

An exhibition of old photographs of the site will also be visible later this year on the gates of City Hall.

To enable everyone to have access to shops during the festive periods of year-end, and in January for the sales, the work will be suspended during that period.

Gradually, during this work, the terminal will begin to be transferred Grand'Place. Seventy-seven seats in total vanishing forever. They will be compensated by creating one hundred and three Grand location. At the end of the work, forty-one seats will be maintained Heroes' Square, in three rows at the end of the square opposite the Hotel de Ville.

The Louvre - Lens

From 2010, the city of Lens, located 20 km from Arras, will host the Louvre !  A museum in itself, whose first stone was laid Décember 4, 2009.

This new museum, called "Louvre - Lens" will have the status of "Museum of France".

It will host exhibitions semi - permanent representative of the entire collections of the Louvre Museum, regularly renewed. It also host temporary exhibitions of national and international level.
